SUMMARY:LINLITHGOW\, Scotland
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be back in Linlithgow\, specifically the brilliant new facility owned by Lothlorien Dog Services.  This session\, just like all our others\, is sure to be fun\, lively and incredibly effective at getting the important first aid information across that could well save the life of your furry companion. \n* \nRhodes 2 Safety have been ranked as the UK’s Number 1 for canine first aid training in the 2017 Business Excellence Awards and now\, on top of that\, we are delighted to have also been crowned Winner of the Outstanding Training Provider of the Year award\, 2017 so you know the information and service you get from us will be second-to-none. \n \nWe deal with shock\, bleeding\, choking\, bites\, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration \nStudents DO NOT bring their dogs\, but I will have one or two of my Ridgebacks with me for demonstration purposes.\n.\nEach student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away\, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary although we are more than happy for students to take their own notes\, photographs of the dogs or anything that is put on the whiteboard during the day if they feel it will help them remember techniques or processes.\n.\nFor students attending as part of their vocational studies\, the course generates 3 CPD points.\n.\nDuring the bandaging section\, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs and then students will be put into pairs to allow one to be the first aider and the other to be the doggy patient.  Once the bandage is done\, students will then swap so that each not only has an opportunity to apply the dressing but also understands how the dressing feels when applied.  A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person\, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human skin also reacts by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up\, another indicator that is more difficult to see on a furry patient.\n.\nTo practice on a toy would not give you any of this feedback and I would not be happy about anybody practicing on a live animal until they are proficient.  I am\, however\, more than happy for our students to torture a human!  Each student will be given a wound dressing and vet wrap to use during their practical training\, and will also be allowed to keep and take these home with them at the end of the day.\n.\n\nAt the end of the session\, there will be first aid products on sale too such as our Rhodes 2 Recovery book\, bandages\, first aid kits\, vet wrap\, tick pickers etc should you wish to buy or beef up your existing canine first aid kit. \nTickets do go very quickly and there are strict limits on numbers\, so if you would like to secure your place\, please click the “Buy ticket” button below. \nT’s & C’s\n(Spaces are paid for in full\, in advance\, through PayPal on this website.  If you do not have a PayPal account\, you can still check out as a guest\, simply using your credit card details.  Sadly\, all payments are non-refundable if cancelled with less than two weeks’ notice.) \n\nCome and join us?

SUMMARY:YORK canine first aid course
DESCRIPTION:Following a packed session in Castle Howard\, we’ve been asked to come back to North Yorkshire again and so the first of our return visits has been arranged inside the Waggy Dog Crèche in Osbaldwick\, York. \nJust like the last\, it’s sure to be fun\, lively and incredibly effective at getting the important first aid information across that could well save the life of your furry companion. \nThe K9 1st Aid courses delivered by Rhodes 2 Safety have been ranked as the UK’s Number 1 by the 2017 Business Excellence Awards so you know the information and service you get will be second-to-none. \n \nT’s & C’s\nStudents will receive a wound dressing and vet-wrap to practice with during the session & take home\, and also printed notes at the end of the course together with their certificate.  Bookings are payable in full\, in advance\, and are non-refundable if less than 2 full weeks’ notice is given for cancellations. \nWe deal with shock\, bleeding\, choking\, bites\, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration \nStudents DO NOT bring their dogs\, but I will have one or two of my Ridgebacks with me for demonstration purposes.\n.\nEach student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away\, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary. For students attending as part of their vocational studies\, the course generates 3 CPD points.\n.\nEverybody will be seated in a horseshoe so that EVERYBODY is on the front row – nobody should be struggling to see.\n.\nDuring the bandaging section\, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs and then students will be put into pairs to allow one to be the first aider and the other to be the doggy patient. Once the bandage is done\, students will then swap so that each not only has a go at doing the dressing but also feels how it is to be the patient and understands how the dressing feels when applied. A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person\, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human skin also reacts by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up.\n.\nTo practice on a toy would not give you any of this feedback and I would not be happy about anybody practicing on a live animal until they are proficient in it I am\, however\, more than happy for them to torture a human!\n.\nAt the end of the session\, there will be first aid products on sale too such as our Rhodes 2 Recovery book\, bandages\, first aid kits\, vet wrap\, tick pickers etc.\nCome and join us?

SUMMARY:STOCKPORT canine first aid
DESCRIPTION:By popular demand\, we are delighted to be bringing our canine first aid workshop back to Stockport.  This session\, just like the last\, is sure to be fun\,  lively and incredibly effective at getting the important first aid information across that could well save the life of your furry companion. \nThe K9 1st Aid courses delivered by Rhodes 2 Safety have been ranked as the UK’s Number 1 by the 2017 Business Excellence Awards so you know the information and service you get will be second-to-none. \n \nWe deal with shock\, bleeding\, choking\, bites\, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration \nStudents DO NOT bring their dogs\, but I will have one or two of my Ridgebacks with me for demonstration purposes.\n.\nEach student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away\, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary. Human skin also reacts by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up.\n.\nTo practice on a toy would not give you any of this feedback and I would not be happy about anybody practicing on a live animal until they are proficient in it – I am\, however\, more than happy for them to torture a human!\n.\nAt the end of the session\, there will be first aid products on sale too such as our Rhodes 2 Recovery book\, bandages\, first aid kits\, vet wrap\, tick pickers etc.\nCome and join us?

SUMMARY:CPR - Canine On-Line
DESCRIPTION:So you can’t make any of our up-coming venues but you still want to learn how to perform CPR and Artificial Respiration ?  Well\, you’ve come to the right place.  This is our first Canine On-Line teaching session and will take place from the comfort of your own home. \n  \n\nTo take part\, you MUST have Skype DOWNLOADED and ready to go\nYou MUST find Rhodes 2 Safety on Skype and send us a CONTACT REQUEST so that we can add you to the Skype session you are interested in\nYou MUST be switched on and ready 10 minutes before the session starts to avoid any technical issues\n\n  \nThe physical K9 1st Aid courses delivered by Rhodes 2 Safety have been ranked as the UK’s Number 1 by the 2017 Business Excellence Awards so you know the information and service you get will be second-to-none.  We’re hoping that you’ll be just as impressed by our Canine On-Line seminars too. \n  \nUsing both demonstration manikins and also Axl\, Rain or Chi (my live Ridgie “able-assistants”) we will discuss the protocol of: \nPrimary Assessment\nThe primary assessment is what you need to do in EVERY emergency situation.  It directs you through the right steps to take\, and the order in which to take them\, to ensure that you and your dog are both safe and stand the best chance of a good outcome. \nAirway\nHow to unblock the airway \nBreathing\nHow to establish if your dog is breathing and exactly what is “normal” \nCirculation\nWhere to find your dog’s heart beat\, other places to find a pulse and what is “normal” \nCPR\nCardio Pulmonary Resuscitation is what most people think of when they talk about doing a first aid course.  This session explains exactly what this technique is and will demonstrate why\, when and how to perform it. \nAR\nArtificial Respiration (aka AR) is the technique you need when you find your dog is NOT breathing and yet still has a pulse.  We would never perform CPR on any animal with a heartbeat so knowing this alternative skill could well be just what you need.
