SUMMARY:K9 1ST AID FOR NEWPORT\, EAST YORKSHIRE
DESCRIPTION:HEAD’S UP EAST YORKSHIRE!!\nWe are delighted to be back in my home county of East Yorkshire.  This session\, just like all our others\, is sure to be fun\, lively and incredibly effective at getting the important first aid information across that could well save the life of your furry companion. \n* \nHaving celebrated our 20th Anniversary in December 2021\, we are very proud to say that Rhodes 2 Safety has continued to be ranked as the UK’s Number 1 for canine first aid training (every year consecutively since 2016 in the Business Excellence Awards)\, so you know the information and service you get from us will be second-to-none.  Since we were up and running N(pre-Covid) we have sadly lost all three of our original Team with Axl\, Rain and Chi all now at the bridge …. but we do have two new lunatics who’ve joined our number so you’ll get to meet either Dice (on the right) or Coda (on the left). \n ridgeback \n  \nWe deal with shock\, bleeding\, choking\, bites\, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration \nStudents DO NOT bring their dogs\, but I will have one or two of my Ridgebacks with me for demonstration purposes.\n.\nEach student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away\, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary although we are more than happy for students to take their own notes\, photographs of the dogs or anything that is put on the whiteboard during the day if they feel it will help them remember techniques or processes.\n.\nFor students attending as part of their vocational studies\, the course generates 3 CPD points.\n.\nDuring the bandaging section\, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs and then students will be put into pairs to allow one to be the first aider and the other to be the doggy patient.  Once the bandage is done\, students will then swap so that each not only has an opportunity to apply the dressing but also understands how the dressing feels when applied.  A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person\, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human skin also reacts by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up\, another indicator that is more difficult to see on a furry patient.\n.\nTo practice on a toy would not give you any of this feedback and I would not be happy about anybody practising on a live animal until they are proficient.  I am\, however\, more than happy for our students to torture a human!  Each student will be given a wound dressing and vet wrap to use during their practical training\, and will also be allowed to keep and take these home with them at the end of the day.\n.\n\nAt the end of the session\, there will be first aid products on sale too such as our Rhodes 2 Recovery book\, bandages\, first aid kits\, vet wrap\, tick pickers etc should you wish to buy or beef up your existing canine first aid kit. \nTickets do go very quickly and there are strict limits on numbers\, so if you would like to secure your place\, please click the “Buy ticket” button below. \nT’s & C’s\n(Spaces are paid for in full\, in advance\, through PayPal on this website.  If you do not have a PayPal account\, you can still check out as a guest\, simply using your credit card details.  Sadly\, all payments are non-refundable if cancelled with less than two weeks’ notice.) \n\nCome and join

SUMMARY:NEWPORT East Yorkshire - K9 1st Aid Seminar
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to be back on the road following all the upheaval of Covid and the restrictions we need to follow to keep everybody safe.  Although many such restrictions have been removed\, we will still be carrying out best safe practice during all of our courses.  Students will be expected to sanitise their hands and also to maintain a safe level of social distancing throughout. \n. \nOn our courses\, EVERYBODY is welcome from Students through to Professional Groomers\, Pet Sitters\, Dog Trainers\, Security Guards\, Hobbyists and members of the General Public.  We deal with shock\, bleeding\, choking\, bites\, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration. \n. \nEach student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away\, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary. For students attending as part of their vocational studies\, the course generates 3 CPD points.\n.\nDuring the bandaging section\, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs (available for snogs regularly throughout the session).  Students DO NOT bring their own dogs.  It is generally safer to practice your skills initially on a human volunteer rather than on your furry best friend.   A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person\, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human skin also reacts clearly by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up which is great for you to witness as a learning tool.  Once you are consistently getting positive feedback from your human “Rover”\, that’s the time to start practising on your dog.\n\n.\nWe have a fully stocked shop on the website and I will bring a selection of merchandise with me for the end of the course too should you wish to top up your first aid box.  (The shop contains our Rhodes 2 Recovery books\, bandages\, first aid kits\, vet wrap\, tick pickers\, first aid kits and much more).  Don’t forget\, if you do order from our website rather than in person\, there will be the inevitable post and packing costs to add\, so bring your purse and fill your boots while your here!\n\n\n\nCome and join us.
