This session is the MORNING SESSION for Bishop students.
.
We are thrilled to be back on the road following all the upheaval of Covid and the restrictions we need to follow to keep everybody safe. Although many such restrictions have been removed, we will still be carrying out best safe practice during all of our courses. Students will be expected to sanitise their hands and also to maintain a safe level of social distancing throughout.
.
On our courses, EVERYBODY attending Bishop Burton College is welcome from brand new students through to studying Professional Groomers, Pet Sitters, Dog Trainers, and Hobbyists. We deal with shock, bleeding, choking, bites, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration.
.
Each student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary. For students attending as part of their vocational studies, the course generates 3 CPD points.
.
During the bandaging section, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs (available for snogs regularly throughout the session). Students DO NOT bring their own dogs. It is generally safer to practice your skills initially on a human volunteer rather than on your furry best friend. A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human skin also reacts clearly by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up which is great for you to witness as a learning tool. Once you are consistently getting positive feedback from your human “Rover”, that’s the time to start practising on your dog.
.
We have a fully stocked shop on the website and I will bring a selection of merchandise with me for the end of the course too should you wish to top up your first aid box. (The shop contains our Rhodes 2 Recovery books, bandages, first aid kits, vet wrap, tick pickers, first aid kits and much more). Don’t forget, if you do order from our website rather than in person, there will be the inevitable post and packing costs to add, so bring your purse and fill your boots while your here!
