A HUGE thank you to Scunthorpe Obedience and Agility Training Club for inviting us to come along and train in Scunthorpe … it’s so nice to be back after a long lockdown physical absence!
On our courses, EVERYBODY from the Club is welcome (be they Students through to Professional Groomers, Pet Sitters, Dog Trainers, Security Guards, or Hobbyists). We deal with shock, bleeding, choking, bites, road traffic accidents as well as the big topics of CPR and Artificial Respiration
Students DO NOT bring their dogs.
.
Each student will gain a certificate of attendance and full course notes to take away, so note taking throughout the session is unnecessary. For students attending as part of their vocational studies, the course generates 3 CPD points.

During the bandaging section, I will demonstrate on one of my dogs. It is generally safer to practice your skills initially on a human volunteer rather than on your furry best friend. A dog cannot give you any feedback about your skills so by doing it on a person, we can get their honest opinion once the bandage is complete. Human tissue also reacts clearly by changing colour and temperature if it is too tight and swells up, which is great for you to witness as a learning tool. Once you are consistently getting positive feedback from your human “Rover”, that’s the time to start practising on your dog.

We have a fully stocked shop on the website where any products featured (and many more that we don’t mention) will be available for you to buy should you wish and I will make sure to bring a good supply with me on the day too, just in case there is anything you need there and then. Our Rhodes 2 Recovery books, bandages, first aid kits, vet wrap, tick pickers etc should all be available. Don’t forget, if you do order from our website rather than in person, there will be the inevitable post and packing costs to add, so bring your purse and fill your boots while you’re here!

Please contact Di Shepherd from the Club to book your place.
